Where can I find a good introduction to writing egg files with references for more depth? It seems that everything I find either says "copy the below code and poof - egg file!" or is written an a highly technical and abstract manner that is difficult to slog through.

I followed instructions I was given for generating an egg file for a Pylons project and, while the egg file generates and will install, it does not include any of the install_requires paramaters that I have specified. The egg file, when unzipped, does not include a requires.txt. No tutorial or reference that I have found has come even close to helping me resolve this.

Furthermore, I have commands in my setup.py (such as findpackages()) that I don't fully undersetand. What's the difference between setuptools and buildout? What is ezsetup? Where can I find a list of all the options that can be passed to setup? I can go on listing a million questions here, but I think I've gotten my point across. Can anyone help?
